Secure Banking at Saldo Bank
Your security is our top priority. On this page, you will find information on how to identify scam attempts, how to protect your personal data, and how we handle our communications.
Customer Security is Always Our Priority
There are many different types of scams and frauds circulating today, and they are becoming increasingly difficult to identify. We want to provide you with tips on how to handle your banking safely online and how to recognize scam attempts. We also explain what you should do if you suspect you have been scammed and need assistance.
Cybercriminals may attempt to steal your personal information or money by impersonating Saldo Bank. Typical methods used in the name of Saldo Bank include:
Text messages (SMS)
Emails
Fake invoices
Scam websites found via search engines
Identify Scam Messages
We will never ask you for the following via email, text message, or over the phone:
Online banking credentials or their passwords.
Your payment card number or CVV code.
PIN codes or confirmation codes.
Money transfers to a "security account" or any other accounts.
If you receive a message asking you to log in with your banking credentials via a direct link, it is a scam.
We do not use direct links to our online bank in our communications. We always recommend that you log in to the online bank via the link on our website or by using the Saldo Bank app.
Beware of Fake Invoices and Payment Reminders
You may have received an invoice or payment reminder sent in Saldo Bank’s name that appears suspicious. Scammers often use our company logo and name to build credibility.
How to recognize a genuine Saldo Bank invoice:
Check the account number (IBAN): Saldo Bank’s official invoices are always directed to our company’s own verified accounts. If the account number on the invoice differs from your previous invoices, contact our customer service before making a payment.
Online Banking: The safest way to check your outstanding invoices is to log in directly to the online bank or our mobile app.
Unjustified reminders: If you receive a payment reminder for a loan you have not taken out, do not pay it. Instead, contact us immediately.
Identify Common Scam Methods
Search Engine Scams (Google Phishing)
Criminals create advertisements that look like the Saldo Bank login page and may appear at the top of search results. These scam sites can look very authentic and may be exact copies of the actual page.
Tip: Do not access online banking through Google search results. Always type www.saldo.com directly into your browser's address bar or use a saved bookmark.
SMS Scams (Smishing)
You may receive a text message claiming that there is suspicious activity on your account or that you have received a new loan offer that requires immediate login. Scam messages often emphasize a sense of urgency.
Tip: Our messages never contain a direct link for online banking authentication.
Phone Scams (Vishing)
A scammer may call and impersonate a bank employee or a security expert, reporting a "data breach" or "security threat."
Tip: Hang up the call immediately if you are asked for your credentials. The bank will never call to ask you to confirm transactions using your banking credentials.
How to Stay Safe?
Use only official channels: Always log in to online banking at saldo.com or use the Saldo Bank app.
Read confirmation requests carefully: Whenever you use your banking credentials, always read exactly what you are confirming. Never confirm a transaction that you are not personally performing at that exact moment.
Keep your contact information up to date: Ensure in your online bank that we have your correct phone number and email address for communication.
If something seems too good to be true, alarm bells should ring. Always be vigilant online and question all unexpected messages and notifications.

What to do if you have been a victim of a scam?
Step 1
Contact our Customer Service
Please contact us immediately if the situation involves a scam carried out in our name or if an unauthorized application has been made using your information.
You can always contact us if you are unsure about the origin of a message or an invoice.
Step 2
Contact your primary bank
Notify your bank immediately if your banking credentials for that bank have been compromised. Your bank will advise you on the necessary steps to ensure your accounts are protected.
If your bank’s app allows you to block your credentials or cards yourself, do so as soon as you realize you may have been scammed.
Step 3
File a report with the police
It is important that you file a report, even if you think that nothing can be done or you feel uncomfortable admitting you were scammed.
There is absolutely no shame in being a victim of a scam. Modern scams are often extremely difficult to identify, and anyone can make an error in judgment or accidentally click something they shouldn't.
