Saldo Graduate Program

Saldo Bank proudly presents our very first Graduate Program, trying to connect newly graduating students with the industry. We know it’s difficult to take the step from a secure university environment to employment and having to decide what fields you want to focus on within your degree.

What's it all about?

The Saldo Graduate Program is aimed for those graduates, who are still unsure of their future direction. Saldo Bank is a small and flexible fintech company which means that we offer a unique opportunity to try out different responsibilities within the company while participating in the Saldo Graduate Program and trying yourself out in different departments.

All the selected graduates get a mentor to make sure that the graduate gets the most experience and knowledge out of the program. Saldo Graduate Program offers a safe environment for graduates to grow and apply their theoretical knowledge in the field.

After successfully completing the Saldo Graduate Program, the best performing graduates will be offered the possibility to work as full time employees at Saldo Bank.

Who can apply?

Everyone who has recently graduated from a university (bachelor or master) within the areas transferrable for these positions is eligible for the Saldo Graduate Program.

What kind of programs do we offer?

We currently offer 2 different 6 month programs you can choose from:

  • Customer Success + Finance

Marketing + Analytics

Position: Graduate - Marketing Data Engineer

Team: 8 colleagues in Marketing Department

Length: First 3 months

Position: Graduate - Data Analyst

Team: 6 colleagues in Analytics & Modelling Department

Length: Further 3 months

1st month:

  • Intro to Marketing team structure, routines, goals, responsibilities

  • Intro to Data frame-work, tools in Saldo marketing

2nd month:

  • Data pipelines testing and monitoring

3rd month:

  • Pipelines documentation

  • Pipelines monitoring / alerting dashboard preparation

4th month:

  • Understanding the team structure, way of working and areas of responsibilities within the Analytics team

  • Spending time with Data Engineers as well as Data Scientists/Analysts/Modellers

  • Sneak peaking at the data in Snowflake (i.e. Analytical database)

  • Reviewing the currently existing dashboards in Tableau

5th month:

  • Creating a dashboard in Tableau

6th month:

  • Recalibrating one of the existing Credit Risk models with the help of one of the Analysts

  • Higher education in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems Engineering or similar area

  • Eagerness to learn quickly and take initiative

  • Creative way of thinking and courage to try out new things

  • Excellent English language skills

  • Open-minded and co-operative personality

  • Ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment

  • Proactive and self-driven attitude with a solution-oriented mindset

  • Attention to the details and problem – solving skills

  • Be able to work individually as well as in a team

Customer Success + Finance

Position: Graduate - Customer Success Specialist

Team: 2 colleagues in Customer Success 

Length: Further 3 months

Position: Graduate - Finance Assistant

Team: 6 colleagues in Finance Department

Length: Further 3 months

1st month:

  • General training and front office customer service

  • Onboarding and trainings within the field of Customer Service during the first week

  • Start making outbound calls to Saldo Bank existing customers from the second week

  • Take inbound calls from Saldo Bank clients and applicants from the third week

2nd month:

  • Back-office tasks: handling emails, chats, updating customer data while adapting knowledge related to Saldo Bank systems gained within the first month

3rd month:

  • Tasks related to AML and KYC in the first line while adapting knowledge on Saldo Bank business and software

4th month:

  • General understanding of the Bank/Group structure; reading of key policies

  • Introduction to accounting function, introduction to TAX reporting

  • Introduction to Data & Operating systems, routine works with data reconciliation

  • Reporting related routines

  • Other tasks according to the business priorities

5th month:

  • Introduction to regulatory reporting function, reporting related routines

  • Routine works with data reconciliation

  • Other tasks according to the business priorities

6th month:

  • Introduction to management accounting and reporting, request to propose to templates, presentation ideas

  • Introduction to budgeting

  • Routine works with data reconciliation

  • Reporting related routines

  • Other tasks according to the business priorities

  • Higher education in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or similar area

  • Eagerness to learn quickly and take initiative

  • Creative way of thinking and courage to try out new things
